Peugeot 308 Unleashed

Peugeot 308 was launched last September 2007 powered by seven engine options with class leading aerodynamics and powered by a 1.6 litre HDi 90 emiting only 120 g/km of CO2. It is the start of a new “3” series family for Peugeot’s wit the 306 being first vehicle of the “8” generation, the Peugeot 308 five door hatchback will be launched in September.

Designed by Peugeot’s in-house designers, the Peugeot 308 builds on the successful concept of the Peugeot 307, with its semi-high architecture, large interior space, class leading safety equipment and high standards of road holding. The stylish design not only looks good but contributes to reducing fuel consumption and emissions, due to its class leading aerodynamics – Cx of 0.29 – enabling the 1.6 litre HDi 90 to emit only 120 g/km of CO2.

The Peugeot 308 will be available with 10 powerplant options:

Petrol engines *VTi – Variable valve lift and Timing and injection

1.4 litre VTi* 95 bhp 5-speed manual gearbox
1.6 litre VTi* 120 bhp 5-speed manual gearbox
1.6 litre VTi* 120 bhp 4-speed automatic gearbox

1.6 litre THP 150 bhp 5-speed manual gearbox
1.6 litre THP 140 bhp 4-speed automatic gearbox

HDi Diesel engines

• 1.6 litre HDi 90 bhp 5-speed manual gearbox
• 1.6 litre HDi 110 bhp 5-speed manual gearbox
• 1.6 litre HDi 110 bhp 6-speed controlled manual gearbox
• 2.0 litre HDi 136 bhp 6-speed manual gearbox
• 2.0 litre HDi 136 bhp 6-speed automatic gearbox

Safety is another strength of the new Peugeot 308, with seven airbags fitted as standard; even rear side airbags will be available as an option on 5 door models. Peugeot’s lane departure warning system (LDWS) and bi-xenon directional headlamps will also be available.

The increased size compared to the 307 results in greater interior space and carrying capacity. The boot of the 308 is cleverly laid out to maximise the space which, with the parcel shelf in place provides 430 litres, increasing to 1,398 litres with the seats folded.

Length 4.276 m
Width 1.815 m
Wheelbase 2.61 m
Height 1.498 m

1.6 litre VTi 120: 10.8, 121, 42.1
1.6 litre THP 150: 8.8, 132, 39.7
1.6 litre HDi 110 FAP: 11.3, 118, 60.1
2.0 litre HDi 136 FAP: 10.1, 127, 51.3

The Peugeot 308 will evolve into a number of different body shapes over the coming months and years, and will see a “BioFlex” petrol model introduced. It could also one day benefit from Peugeot’s HDi Hybrid technology.

Citroen C1 Revenge

The Citroën C1 is a city car produced by the French manufacturer Citroën since 2005.

The C1 was developed as part of the B-Zero project by the PSA Group (Peugeot and Citroën) in a joint-venture with Toyota. The Peugeot 107 is identical to the C1 other than the front bumper and front and rear lights, while the Toyota Aygo is slightly more differentiated but still obviously similar. All of them are built at the new facilities of the TPCA joint-venture (Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile) in the city of Kolin, Czech Republic. The project was presented for the first time at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show. The cars are 4-seater, 3 or 5-door hatchbacks measuring 3.40 metres (133.9 in) in length. The body was designed by Donato Coco.

A notable feature of the 5-door C1 and 107, though not the Aygo, is the large tail light cluster, which extends from the edge of the rear doors to the rear window, meaning there is no external metal "C-pillar".

The C1 is powered by a 1.0 L 3-cylinder engine, which has a fuel economy of 61.4 mpg (3.8 L/100 km). A 1.4 L 4-cylinder engine is also available.

Mini Cooper 2007 in Demands

MINI is an automobile brand owned by the BMW Group which has produced vehicles in Oxford, England since April 2001The car, designed by Frank Stephenson, is marketed as a "retro" design of the original Mini, which was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation and its successors from 1959 to 2000. The name is written in capital letters to distinguish it from its predecessor.Originally developed by Rover Group and to be sold under the Rover brand and made at the Longbridge Plant, the MINI project was retained by BMW when the latter divested itself of Rover in2000. The MINI is assembled in Cowley, Oxford, UK in what was historically the Pressed Steel Company body plant, now known as Plant Oxford.

The 2001 to 2006 model years included four hatchback models: the basic "MINI One", the diesel-engined "MINI One/D", the sportier "MINI Cooper" and the supercharged "MINI Cooper S". In 2005 a convertible roof option was added. In November 2006 a re-engineered version of the MINI was released which is unofficially known as the "Mk II MINI".The Mk II is only available as a hard-top in the 2007 model year.

The MINI was designed and engineered to replace the long running Rover 100 and the larger Rover 200, both deemed unsuitable for the modern world automobile market. The MINI was supposed to replace low-end models of the 200 and high-end models of the 100 with a Rover 35 replacing high end 200s and low end 400s. After the divestment of MG Rover, the MINI was instead marketed as a small yet desirable city car rather than a mainstream replacement of the 100 and 200.
